Prashna · A Vedic answer to a specific question

You have a question. The classical tradition has a way of answering it.

Prashna is the branch of Vedic astrology that answers one specific question, put at one specific moment, by one specific person. Kaalam Prashna is a modern rendering of that classical method: the chart is cast for the moment you ask, the classical rules that apply are fired, and the reading comes back in plain modern English. No chat sessions, no per-minute meters, no oracle-style verdicts.

The classical idea

In the Vedic tradition, Prashna (प्रश्न, "question") is treated as a genuine object of study in its own right. When a question is committed to at a specific moment, the sky at that moment carries the same weight a birth chart does. It becomes the chart of the question itself. The classical framework has thousand-year-old rules for reading it: which houses matter for which subject, how the ascendant of the query moment relates to the outcome, when the Moon’s placement supports or blocks the endeavour, how transits and dasha overlay onto it.

This is not divination-by-vibes. It is a specific method with specific inputs and specific outputs, worked out over centuries and preserved in the classical shastras.

How Kaalam Prashna works

You pick your question from a curated menu, the same two-level sankalpa mechanism a classical astrologer uses to record the object of the query before the chart is cast. The categories cover work, finance, marriage, children, health, home and property, travel, and a general fallback; the questions inside each are the ones the classical framework actually has something to say about.

You add your question in your own words. Optionally, you can say what you were doing when the question came to mind, or the window you’re thinking of acting in. Both feed the classical rules where they apply, and are ignored where they don’t.

When you press submit, the moment is recorded and the chart is cast. Your birth chart is overlaid so the reading can incorporate your natal placements and current dashas. The classical rules fire against both. The reading comes back in plain modern English — grounded, cited to the tradition’s reasoning at every step, and not stretched past what the rules actually say.

What Kaalam Prashna does not do

  • No per-minute chat with a live astrologer. This is a deterministic reading of a specific chart, returned in one pass.
  • No fear-based framing. If the classical framework doesn’t indicate a difficulty, Kaalam doesn’t invent one to justify a follow-up purchase.
  • No remedy commerce. No gemstones, no yantras, no rituals to buy at the end. If a classical remedy is relevant, Kaalam names it; it does not sell it.
  • No answers to questions the classical framework doesn’t address. Kaalam Prashna covers a curated set of topics with real classical support; questions outside that set are outside the product’s scope.
  • No invented certainty. Where the classical framework indicates ambiguity, the reading says so. Silence is a valid answer where the tradition genuinely doesn’t speak.

Pricing

Prashna is credit-based. One credit per question. Credit packs are $19 for 5 or $49 for 15; credits are yours for twelve months from purchase. Your first question is on us — a lifetime grant on your account, so you can see what a real reading looks like before committing to a pack.

Dignified-silence variants (a question the classical framework can’t answer at that moment; a chart that doesn’t fire enough rules for a real reading) refund the credit automatically. You only spend when the reading actually lands.
